Infertile Couples Receive Special Care in Eastern Cuba |

Havana.- The Infertile Couple Care Program, which benefits patients in the eastern province of Guantanamo, reported a total of 111 pregnancies in 2018.
Thanks to this initiative, couples who cannot achieve the desired conception receive free treatment, for which reason they are referred to the family planning consultation.
According to the protocol of the program, in this initial step, women up to 35 years of age are evaluated and undergo a study to determine the causes of infertility.
In general, treatments such as follicular follow-up (to verify the woman's ovulation) are applied and in other cases, this method is combined with the stimulation of ovulation.
The network of healthcare services for infertile couples was created in Cuba in 2007 and extends to all provinces and municipalities, endowed with human resources and appropriate technologies.
