Athletes' Commission of Cuban Olympic Committee Set Up |

Havana.- The Cuban Olympic Committee (COC) set up the Athletes' Commission, which is made up of selected figures in a process that included 980 athletes.
The Greco-Roman wrestler Mijain Lopez was elected president of the Commission, while the shooter Leuris Pupo and the former judoka Yalenis Castillo will be members.
Lopez expressed gratitude for the support for his candidacy and promised to work to contribute to sports from that responsibility.
The establishment of this advisory body began with 22 proposals submitted by the national federations to form a list that was later reduced to 12, eight and four candidates.
This step, adjusted to the indications from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), will allow the voices, experiences and concerns of the athletes to develop the sports movement in Cuba, COC authorities said.
