Cuba Boosts Use of Natural Medicine
Monday, February 11, 2019

Havana.- The Cuban healthcare system promotes the use of the so-called green medicine, which is considered an option for the treatment of several ailments in humans.

According to experts, every year, the demand grows from the Ministry of Public Health and the scientific institutions to develop new medicines from different species of plant.

In this regard, it is worth mentioning that the demand for vegetable mass in the country amounts to 615 tons, which allows distributing 75 million bottles of different substances among the natural medicine laboratories in each municipality.

The sector's strategy aims to achieve 100 million bottles, taking into account the positive impact on the quality of life of the population.

Among the most demanded species are aloe, anamu, lime, passion flower and chamomile, although production of the latter does not meet the country's demand.
