Cuba Promotes Industrial Grain Processing

Havana.- The Cuban agricultural sector is taking steps to increase the industrial processing of grains.

The first plant in the country dedicated to this industrial activity opened in the central province of Sancti Spiritus.

Four other similar industries are being built in eastern Cuba, as part of a project that will consists of 32 of these units to boost Cuban agricultural development.

The Sancti Spiritus plant belongs to the Valle del Caonao Agroindustrial Grain Company and will allow processing 40 tons of grains in 24 hours.

This way, consumers will receive a higher quality food free of impurities, in addition to creating new sources of employment in the industry.
