Havana.- The special municipality of Isla de la Juventud, in western Cuba, has reported good results in actions aimed at guaranteeing children's health.
In this direction, compliance with the Maternal and Child Program stands out, with quality care for pregnant women, as a result of which no maternal deaths have been reported in 16 years.
Several teams work to provide good care to patients suffering from obstetric and neonatal morbidity or serious complications.
In addition, specialists in imaging and gynecology study the well-being of the fetus using Doppler ultrasound equipment.
Last year, the prenatal diagnosis of malformations allowed the detection of 12 anomalies incompatible with life, four of them associated with pulmonary and cardiovascular affections.
