Cuban Water Polo Team to Compete in World Cup
Monday, January 21, 2019

Havana.- The Cuban women's water polo team will participate in a qualifying tournament in Brazil, where they will opt for a place at the World Cup.

Up to eight teams were allowed to compete, but on this occasion, only the teams from Brazil, Canada and Cuba will be present, so they will compete for two slots in the World Cup.

Called the ASU Cup, by the acronym of the American Swimming Union, the contest will also contribute to the teams' training for the Pan-American Games in Lima, Peru.

The 13th Women's Water Polo World Cup will be held next summer in South Korea.

Water polo is among the 19 sports that will compete in Lima in 2019, where participants will be able to qualify the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, in 2020.
