Private Sector Supports Cuban Tourism
Monday, January 14, 2019

Havana.- The Cuban tourism industry, a dynamic element of the national economy, finds a solid support in the management of the country's private sector.

The leisure industry maintains links with non-state workers and cooperatives that offer services to hotel and extra-hotel facilities.

Moreover, travel agencies have signed contracts with 2,000 landlords, some 400 restaurants and 900 private transporters.

It is worth mentioning that private homes allow solving the insufficient hotel accommodation capacities in the main colonial cities.

In addition to this, self-employed workers participate in the maintenance or construction of hotels, where the state has signed around 250 contracts with them and with 100 cooperatives.
