Healthcare Strategy in Favor of Health in Cuba |

Havana.- The Family Doctor and Nurse Program, with 35 years of activity in Cuba, favors the quality of life of the population and healthcare work.
The activity of this level is reflected in positive indicators, such as the decrease in infant mortality, which was 4.0 per 1,000 live births at the end of 2018 and for the second consecutive year.
This program also stands out in the increase in Cubans' life expectancy at birth, which is 78.45, according to statistics from the Ministry of Public Health.
More than 18 million visits to family members and 84 million visits have been made in these 35 years, while the goal is to meet 70 percent of health problems at the primary level.
It is worth mentioning that Cuba has 10,889 family doctor's offices, 449 polyclinics and 785 Basic Work Groups in primary health care.
