Busy Agenda for Cuban Performing Arts |

Havana.- The beginning of 2019 comes with a busy agenda for Cuban performing arts, marked by a new edition of the Villanueva Meeting.
This initiative proposes a wide program of premieres, reruns, theoretical meetings and literary presentations to theater lovers, among other options.
The meeting recalls the 150th anniversary of the events at the Villanueva Theater, where an attack by Spanish volunteers against Cuban independence activists was reported during a show at that facility.
Other activities include the official delivery of the 2019 National Theater Award, the granting of the Villanueva Awards at Sala Villena of the Union of Artists and Writers of Cuba (UNEAC) and the awards from the Tablas-Alarcos publishing house.
The Villanueva Meeting will conclude with the panel "Modern Dance in Cuba: 60 Years in Motion. Celebration for the Six Decades of the National Theater of Cuba.
