Havana.- The Plaza Hotel, the oldest establishment in the city of Camagüey, has improved its image thanks to a restoration program that is underway.
The works were concentrated on the first floor and the surroundings of the establishment, which was founded in 1907 in the city's historic heart.
The 67-room hotel exhibits renovated spaces in the restaurant, cafeteria, lobby bar and store.
It is worth mentioning that important personalities from Cuban and universal culture have stayed in its rooms, including the Chilean poet Gabriela Mistral, a Nobel Prize winner for Literature.
The two-star hotel's major tourist-sending markets are Cuba, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.
