Havana.- Cuba's Maikel Caceres, from the Cachorros de Holguin team, signed a contract to play with Indios del Boer of the Professional Baseball League of Nicaragua.
The Nicaraguan championship began on November 30 and will end its regular season on December 29, with a reduced calendar of 24 games.
According to experts, each of the four teams has been reinforced with eight imported players, which improves the quality of the tournament in Nicaragua.
In addition, the playoffs will be played in January, and the first place will qualify directly to the final, while the second and third places will play a semifinal to win five games.
The Indios del Boer team is based at the Denis Martinez National Stadium in Managua and is the most successful team in professional baseball in that country, with five titles.
