Foreign Investment in Cuban Agricultural Sector
Monday, November 19, 2018

Havana.- Cuba's agricultural sector is committed to foreign investment to develop several programs with the use of efficient and environmentally friendly technologies.

That is the objective of Grupo Empresarial Ganadero (GEGAN), which is in charge of the poultry industry, swine raising, all small livestock and 50 percent of cattle raising.

The business options with foreign capital include the closed cycle of breeding, slaughtering and processing of poultry until the packing process, both for the commercialization of cuts of fresh meat and as a raw material to produce byproducts, as well as beef production, the industrial processing and the commercialization of special cuts, among other economic alternatives,

As an example, two companies in Denmark are weighing the possibility of producing pork in the central provinces of Villa Clara and Cienfuegos.
