Bolivia Promotes Creation of Underwater Museum
Monday, November 12, 2018

La Paz.- Bolivian authorities are weighing the option of building an underwater museum in Lake Titicaca, at a cost of nearly 10 million dollars.

The base of the project is the archaeological ruins detected in the place, where visitors will learn about ancient civilizations.

The project is in a final design stage that is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2019, when the financing will be guarantee and construction will start.

In the site chosen for the museum, some 10,000 different archaeological pieces, including bone artifacts and kitchen utensils, were found last year.

Visitors will be able to scuba dive and snorkel in the lake, so that they can appreciate the ruins closely, together with the continuity of studies in two dozen targeted areas.
