Professionals for Cuba's Healthcare System
Monday, November 12, 2018

Havana.- The Cuban healthcare system promotes the qualification of personnel to guarantee high-quality services to the population, with a view to improving people's quality of life.

According to statistics, there are more than 86,000 experts in nursing, 54.7 percent of whom work at the primary healthcare level.

Of that total, more than 75 percent are bachelors in Nursing, together with 65 PhDs in that medical specialty and 5,230 who hold Master's degrees.

In addition, Cuba has experts in community nursing, who guarantee faster solutions without relying exclusively on medical guidance.

It is noteworthy that they also join international medical collaboration brigades, since 13 nurses took part in the first Cuban medical mission in Algeria and today, they exceed 6,000 who are working in several countries.
