Cuba Joints System for the Elderly
Monday, November 12, 2018

Havana.- Cuba joined the International Network of Nursing in Health for the Elderly, which is made up of nine member countries.

Cuba's membership in this mechanism took place at the 12th International Meeting of Nursing Networks (RIE) held at Havana's Convention Center.

The Cuban network was created in response to a request from nurses who have specialized in geriatrics and gerontology in the country.

Cuba is one of the leading models in terms of health care, and it implements programs that outline guidelines, methodology and research to provide quality nursing care.

It is worth mentioning that more than 20 percent of the Cuban population is composed of senior citizens, hence the importance of providing differentiated health services to that segment.
