Central Cuba Produces Ecological Bee Honey
Monday, November 12, 2018

Havana.- The central Cuban province of Sancti Spiritus is promoting actions to increase production of organic bee honey for export.

In this context, the certification of 528 beehives in the mountainous area of Trinidad, as a previous step to obtain this variety of food, was completed.

Among the requirements to be met is the lack of nearby polluting agents and the total replacement of materials and queen bees.

Honey is obtained from blooms of whitebell and Indian liana or woodpecker, as well as other plant species that grow in the mountains.

This organic product is in great demand in the international market, and it has a higher price than conventional honey.
