Spain Reports Increase in Tourist Arrivals |

Madrid.- Spanish tourist destinations closed the first nine months of 2018 with 66.2 million international visitors, a figure similar to the one reported in the same period in 2017.
This result was influenced by results in September, when tourist arrivals showed an interannual increase of 0.5 percent, to 8.9 million holidaymakers.
From January to September, the United Kingdom maintained its position as the Spain's major tourist-sending market with 15 million vacationers, followed by France, with nearly 9.4 million travelers.
Likewise, the number of visitors from Italy (21.4 percent), Portugal (14.8 percent) and Russia (7.6 percent) also increased.
With 81.9 million international arrivals, Spain was the second tourist destination in the world in 2017, just behind France and ahead of the United States.
