Cuba Wins Two Titles Judo Grand Prix

Havana.- The Judo Grand Prix in Cancun (Mexico) resulted in two titles, one silver medal and one bronze medal for Cuba.

In the eight-strong team, Idalys Ortiz dominated the division of more than 78 kilograms and defeated the Brazilian judoka Maria Suelen Altheman for the fourteenth time.

Meanwhile, in the men's contest, Ivan Silva won in the 90 kilograms, with four victories, the last of one in the gold-medal fight against Germany's Marc Odenthal in just 56 seconds.

Likewise, Andy Granda won the silver medal in the +100-kilogram division after he defeated Lukas Kpalek, from the Czech Republic, by Golden Rule Ippon in 4:23 minutes.

Finally, Kaliema Antomarchi was the bronze medalist in the 78-kilogram division, after losing the semifinal fight to Brazil's Mayra Aguiar and winning the third place at the expense of Beata Pacut, from Poland.
