Africa Evaluates Options for Tourism
Monday, September 24, 2018

Nairobi.- African countries are evaluating the options to develop tourism, with a view to increasing participation of this economic activity in the regional level.

According to statistics from specialized organizations, the continent barely assimilates 5 percent of the total number of tourists in the world, despite the existence of numerous attractions.

In that regard, a wide range of strategies are implemented in order to reverse this situation and take advantage of Africa's potential for nature tourism.

For example, countries such as Tanzania and Rwanda are oriented towards nature by offering ecologically responsible accommodations and safaris to holidaymakers.

In the case of Kenya, the priority is domestic tourism, a sector that generated revenues of nearly 1.2 billion dollars last year.
