Ecuadorian Capital Wins World Travel Awards |

Quito.- The Ecuadorian capital, Quito, won 13 prizes during the 25th edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA), corresponding to the South American region.
The city received the awards to the Leading Destination in South America, the Leader of Meetings and Conferences, as well as the leading Cultural City in the region.
In addition, as a country, Ecuador won 25 recognitions, which consolidate the nation's position in the area.
It is worth mentioning that Quito has been Humankind's Cultural Heritage for 40 years, a distinction that recognizes the attributes of the best preserved colonial centers in the region.
Experts highlighted the existence of 30 churches and convents, museums, monuments, squares and state institutions, such as the Palace of Carondelet, which is the seat of the Ecuadorian Government.
In the first eight months of the year, Quito was visited by 463,181 holidaymakers, accounting for a year-on-year growth of around 6.3 percent.
