Work by Cuban Judo Coach Acknowledged
Monday, September 24, 2018

Havana.- Rolando Veitia, who is among best judo coaches in Cuba and the world, was decorated by the International Judo Federation (IJF).

Veitia was decorated and joined the Hall of Fame of that sport, thus becoming the third Cuban judoka to receive that honor.

The expert received the diploma and Jigoro Kano statuette, which credit him as one of the immortals on the tatamis, from the hands of Jose Humberto Rodriguez, the IJF director of Development for the Americas.

Cuba is represented in the Hall of Fame by the Olympic champions Hector Rodriguez and Driulis Gonzalez, who received that recognition in 2013 and 2015, respectively.

Thus, 48 personalities have joined the World Judo Hall of Fame, where Japan appears as the country with the most representatives (7), followed by the United Kingdom (6), while France, Holland, Belgium, Cuba and Azerbaijan have three each.
