Jardines del Rey Consolidates Recovery in Cuba
Monday, September 17, 2018

Havana.- The tourist destination of Jardines del Rey, in the northern keys of Ciego de Avila province, has consolidated its recovery from the damage caused by Hurricane Irma last year.

The hurricane hit Cuba and caused severe damage to the tourist infrastructure in that destination, forcing authorities from the sector to work hard to restore the facilities.

The strong winds that hit the coasts destroyed roofs, glassware, carpentry, gardens and beach thatch-roof restaurants and the local airport and causeway.

In 53 days, works allowed to restoring the hotels and recreational units, as well as electrical, telephone and hydraulic lines.

This way, 7,000 renovated rooms have more modern furniture, higher quality and comfort, in accordance with the standards demanded by the markets.
