Millions Invested in Cuban Iron and Steel Industry
Monday, September 17, 2018

Havana.- The Antillana de Acero iron and steel complex, in the Cuban capital, benefits from Russian investments of nearly 165 million dollars.

Industry executives pointed out that this figure should be complemented by another 100 million pesos, as part of a process that should conclude by 2025.

Up to now, 49 contracts worth 105 million dollars have been signed to import equipment in 2018 and 2019.

The works include the capital repair of nine naves, the assembly of 15 traveling cranes, the total modification of the electric power system and the installation of the 250 laminator.

This way, the company will be able to increase production to 250,000 tons of liquid steel, with 165,000 tons of bars of different profiles, and 65,000 tons of planks and angles.
