Chair Dedicated to Outstanding Cuban Musician Created |

Havana.- The Higher Institute of Art (ISA), an emblematic institution in Cuban culture, has created a chair dedicated to the musician Juan Formell, founder of the orchestra Los Van Van.
According to experts, the initiative pays tribute to the outstanding artist, who directed the popular Cuban musical group for more than 40 years.
ISA officials noted that the chair allows uniting young Cuban creators to musical genres like son and guaracha.
Thanks to this step, students will expand their musical knowledge and will attend specialized workshops, as well as repertoire classes.
The current conductor of the orchestra, Samuel Formell, said that they will explain to the students how arrangements were made, harmony and everything related to the foundation of Los Van Van.
