Monday, August 6, 2018

Havana.- Cuban fencing had positive results in the 23rd edition of the Central American and Caribbean Games held in Barranquilla (Colombia).

Cuba finished in the first position by countries in that sport, with seven titles and four bronze medals, followed by Venezuela (4-4-4) and Colombia (1-4-4).

On the last day of fencing competitions, the men defeated Mexico 45-36 in the discussion of the title by teams in foil, after leaving the Dominican Republic and Colombia behind.

For its part, the women's team won the bronze medal after beating Mexico 45-42 in the discussion for the third place.

It is worth mentioning that in the Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz in 2014, Cuba finished third by countries in fencing, with two titles and seven bronze medals.
