Parks in Eastern Cuba Recognized
Monday, August 6, 2018

Havana.- The province of Holguín, in the eastern part of the island, stands out for the contribution of its several parks as meeting places and referents of social life.

According to experts, the old square of Isabel II stands out among the public areas that identify Holguín as the City of Parks.

With dozens of these sites, the city has become a benchmark for the conservation programs of its public squares, which were declared a Protection Zone by the National Heritage Commission in 2014.

In order to improve their conditions, the lighting has been changed, and floor tiles, benches and green areas have been restored, taking into account the original designs.

Holguin holds spacious outdoors structures for the healthy recreation of the population, and every day local authorities work on maintaining the original architecture for future generations.
