Dominican Republic Reports Increased Tourist Arrivals |

Santo Domingo.- Tourist destinations in the Dominican Republic received 3,440,805 foreign holidaymakers in the first half of 2018.
According to the Central Bank, that figure represents an expansion of 6.1 percent compared to the same period last year.
The total arrival of passengers by air, including residents and non-residents, during from January to June reached 3,735,331.
Moreover, 61.3 percent of visitors arrived from North America, followed by Europe (22.5 percent), South America (12.5), Central America and the Caribbean (3.4) and Asia and the rest of the world (0.3 percent).
It is worth mentioning that the Punta Cana international airport handled 64 percent of the total number of vacationers, while Las Americas airport received 15 percent.
