Havana.- The Cuban health system benefits from advanced technology in the specialty of cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, with favorable results in its application.
In this way, achievements were made in the installation of state-of-the-art magnetic resonance equipment at the Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery Institute and the Hermanos Ameijeiras Surgical Clinical Hospital, both in Havana.
Meanwhile, in centers located in other provinces, equipment for nuclear medicine, interventional cardiology and cardiac arrhythmias, among other ailments, have been installed.
Cuba has a national cardiovascular rehabilitation program that guarantees the prevention and rehabilitation of these diseases, mainly ischemic heart disease.
Among the actions to prevent this evil are the elimination of smoking, promotion of healthy lifestyle, physical exercises, control of blood pressure, and prevention of diabetes and high lipids in blood.
