Cycling Brings First Title to Cuba in Barranquilla

Havana.- Cycling brought the first title to Cuba in the Central American and Caribbean Games taking place in Barranquilla, Colombia, through Arlenis Sierra.

The Cuban cyclist dominated the actions in the individual time trial race by clocking 28:08.97 minutes, followed by Colombia's Ana Cristina Sanabria (28:41.54).

All 13 competitors covered two laps along a 10.6-kilometer route to complete the distance of 21.2 kilometers.

It is worth mentioning that Sierra won a bronze metal world and ranked 28th in the Olympic route race in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2016.

In addition, in the Veracruz 2014 edition, she set a record for in the pursuit race by teams, along with her teammates Marlies Mejías, Yudelmis Domínguez, Yumari González and Yoanka González.
