Cuban Economic Authorities Adjust Mechanisms in Private Sector
Monday, July 16, 2018

Havana.- Cuban authorities have updated the mechanisms in the private sector, with a view to improving the facilities of this alternative form of labor.

According to experts, the new regulations contemplate 123 activities that are authorized by a single license, in order to provide more comprehensive services without affecting the established taxes.

Among the changes of the norm and in order to meet demands from the sector, new activities were created, like bars and recreation, baker and vehicle rental.

Coupled with this, business owners are empowered to delegate their duties to a worker hired by them in the event of a prolonged absence for various reasons.

The new regulatory framework for self-employment will come into effect in December, 150 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
