Festival of Clarinets in the Cuban Capital
Monday, July 16, 2018

Havana.- The Cuban capital hosted the 6th edition of the Clarinet Festival, held at the San Felipe Neri Oratory with the presence of interpreters of that instrument from all over the country.

According to experts, the event highlights the weight of that instrument in concert music, as well as the training of high-level performers in the art education system.

Therefore, students and recent graduates took part in the 3rd Young Talents' Competition and the closing gala, where they showed their virtues.

Among the musicians who took part were Maestros Javier Zalba, renowned for his contributions to composition and jazz (Irakere, Temperamento); Rafael Inciarte and Antonio Dorta, a professor, a soloist and a member of the wind-wood string of the National Symphony.

The shows involved the quartets Ebano de La Habana and Cubano de Clarinetes, the trio Cañas Móviles, Dúo Cali and the soloists Aylet Roque and Janio Abreu.
