Tourism and Nature in Cayo Coco
Monday, July 9, 2018

Havana.- Cayo Coco, which is part of Jardines del Rey (King's Gardens), has the facilities of Sitio La Güira, which is linked to nature tourism.

The establishment offers 10 rooms with an exterior appearance that simulates the typical construction of Cuban huts and the lodging conditions of the Islazul chain.

According to experts, the place mainly attends to visitors interested in bird watching and trekking, who arrive especially during the peak tourist season from October to April.

The surroundings of La Güira recreate Cuban traditions with rural thatch-roof restaurants and closely linked to nature.

On the site, you can see species such as the green woodpecker, the scapular, the jabao and the chipojo or blue caguayo, a reptile that lives in the branches of trees.
