Cuba Promotes School Sports
Monday, July 9, 2018

Havana.- The 54th edition of the National School Games in Cuba began with competitions in 36 sports.

The capital aspires to retain the first place by provinces that it won last year, when it accumulated 611 points, in addition to harvesting 150 titles, 89 silver medals and 121 bronze medals.

The representatives of Santiago de Cuba (573 points, 65 gold, 48 silver and 73 bronze medals) and Granma (479 points, 68 gold, 67 silver and 62 bronze medals) followed Havana.

Meanwhile, in the youth category, Havana, which scored 593 points in 2017, is seeking to reaffirm its supremacy; followed by Santiago de Cuba and Villa Clara.

These competitions favor the development of talents by promoting the work of those children and young people with a potential for certain sports.
