Cuban Cinema in Venezuela
Monday, June 25, 2018

Havana.- Representative Cuban films will be screened in cinemas of the National Cinematheque of Venezuela, as part of an exhibition that will end in late June.

The program includes the exhibition of seven motion pictures that reflect social and political content, with themes such as friendship, passions and gender violence.

The list of films includes Cuba Libre, by the moviemaker José Luis Sánchez, a work that deals about the last months of the Spanish-Cuban-American conflict and the subsequent U.S. military occupation of the island.

Other films are the documentary Me dice Cuba, by director Pablo Massip, which highlights a part of the Cuban musical avant-garde of the present, and the feature-length movie Esther en Alguna Parte.

Other films to be screened are Las Profesías de Amanda, by the moviemaker Pastor Vega; La Película de Ana, by Daniel Díaz Torres; Boccaccerías Habaneras, by Arturo Sotto Díaz, and Vestido de Novia, by Marilyn Solaya.
