Cuba Promotes International Medical Cooperation

Havana.- Cuba promotes international collaboration in the field of health care with more than 400,000 professionals who have worked in 165 countries.

Authorities from the sector said that at present, Cuba has medical specialists working in 65 nations and is willing to support those in need.

As an example, they mentioned the participation of Cuban brigades in the fight against the Ebola epidemic in the African continent.

In addition, the healthcare infrastructure in the country has been strengthened, as is the case of the eastern province of Granma, where six territorial hospitals operate and as well as several such facilities in the municipalities.

Coupled with this are maternal and elderly homes, dental clinics, 791 family doctor's offices and 28 polyclinics.
