Russia Weights Investing in Cuban Energy Sector
Monday, June 11, 2018

Havana.- The Russian company INTER RAO Export LLC is evaluating the possible construction of four power generation plants in several Cuban areas.

The company has already granted the Finish firm Poyry technical services for the design of the project, as well as technical solutions in which it will make use of the best practices worldwide.

Poyry has participated in the construction of 60,000 megawatt in projects linked to energy worldwide.

Currently, the firm also works in forestry industry projects, bio-refineries, metals, mining and environment, with sales that reached 522 million euros in 2017.

Meanwhile, INTER RAO Export LLC provides engineering services, including the construction and maintenance of electrical facilities.

Three of the plants will be built in Habana del Este and the rest will be located in the Mariel area, each with a generating capacity of 200 megawatts.
