French Airline Announces Strikes in May
Monday, May 21, 2018

Havana.- The French airline Air France called for strikes in May to extend the actions already scheduled for late April.

According to union sources, the April 17 strike affected 55 percent of flights.

Air France pilots rejected a proposal by the company to end the strike for an immediate wage increase of 2 percent.

Faced with this, the workers, who initially requested a salary increase of 6 percent, have lowered their claims to 5.1 percent for 2018.

The airline's management estimated that the first seven days of the strike in April left a loss of nearly 170 million euros.
