Good Production of Bee Honey in Eastern Cuba
Monday, May 21, 2018

Havana.- The eastern Cuban province of Camagüey accumulates a production of 125 tons of bee honey in the first three months of the year.

The territory achieved that volume with some 14,960 active hives, producing 42 tons above the output reported in the same period in 2017.

This year's plan stands at 575 tons of honey, in addition to ensuring stability in supplies of derivatives such as wax and propolis.

Currently, beehives are moved to the keys, coasts and mangroves of the southern part of the territory, in search of better blooms for productive purposes.

In 2017, Camagüey produced 520 tons of bee honey, despite the negative effects of intense drought first, and Hurricane Irma later.
