Insurance Management in Cuban Economy Highlighted
Monday, May 21, 2018

Havana.- The company Seguros Internacionales de Cuba S.A. (ESICUBA) showed a dynamic activity in 2017, with a collection of 135 million pesos for premiums.

Likewise, executives from the institution pointed out that the reached up to 108 million pesos in the same period.

Faced with this, the impact of Hurricane Irma led ESICUBA to face damages for some 300 million pesos, with emphasis on facilities in the tourism sector.

Also in 2017, insurance products were designed for the non-state sector, including non-agricultural cooperatives and self-employed workers.

Coupled with this, there is an interest in diversifying operations in personal insurance related to passenger car trips or medical expenses that are provided to foreigner residents in the country.
