Legacy of Cuban Boxer Félix Savón Recognized

Havana.- The legendary Cuban boxer Felix Savón (91 kg) won four titles in the Central American and Caribbean Games.

Savón is the only boxer who holds four gold medals, since he won the editions held in Santiago de los Caballeros-1986, Mexico City-1990, Ponce-1993 and Maracaibo-1998.

He also won three crowns in the Olympic Games, dominating the actions in Barcelona-1992, Atlanta-1996 and Sydney-2000.

Among the top winners in Central American contests are also the Cuban boxers Teófilo Stevenson, Ariel Hernández, Mario Kindelán and Juan Hernández Sierra, as well as José Luis Cabrera, Rolando Garbey, Hermenegildo, Armando Martinez, José Luis Hernández, Julio González, Enrique Carrión and Manuel Mantilla.
