Cuban Paralympic Athletes in Brazil

Havana.- Representatives of Cuban Paralympic sport will be present at the CAIXA Open Lotteries swimming and athletics event in Sao Paulo (Brazil).

The Cuban delegation is headed by Paralympic champions Omara Durand (athletics) and Lorenzo Pérez (swimming).

In addition to Durand, with three gold medals in 100, 200, and 400 meters T12 (weak visual depth) in Rio de Janeiro 2016, and his guide Yuniol Kindelán, the Cuban group also includes Cristian Carlos Guillén, Guillermo Varona, Yordi Hernández and Yohannis Lastre.

Perez, a Paralympic champion and world record holder of the 100m freestyle S6 swimming, will be joined by Toronto 2015 Para-Pan-American champion in 100 meters butterfly S9 swimming, Juan Castillo.

Other delegation members will be Yunerki Ortega, two-time silver medalist in Toronto-2015 in the 100 meters chest and 200 meters medley S11 (blind), and Osdany Madrigal, Yasmany Izquierdo and Javier Sánchez.
