Central American Tourism Meeting in Dominican Republic |

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic will host the Ordinary Meetings of the Central American Council of Tourism (CCT) and the Board of Directors of the Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA).
In 2017, Central America and the Dominican Republic received 23.1 million visitors, equivalent to an annual growth of 7.5 percent.
This trend is equivalent to 1.6 million additional tourists in the said period.
The region's major tourist-sending markets were North America (43.3 percent), Central America (26.8 percent), Europe (15.8 percent) and South America (11.8 percent).
Asian countries also stand out with 0.9 percent, the Caribbean with 0.7 percent and the rest of the world with 0.7 percent.
The Strategic Plan of Sustainable Tourism Development of Central America envisages sustainability, excellence, responsibility, integration, authenticity, diversity and ethics as its principles.
