Montevideo.- The 2018 Latin American Sales initiative will bring together school ships from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Uruguay and Venezuela.
This is the third time that the event is convened, and this year it will be organized by Chile.
Among the participating vessels are Juan Sebastián de Elcano, from Spain, and Esmeralda, from Chile, which were built in the shipyards of Cádiz in 1927.
The sailboat tour will conclude on September 2 in Veracruz (Mexico) and was declared of national interest by the Government of Uruguay.
The regatta will also visit the ports of Buenos Aires, Ushuaia (Argentina), Cape of Horn (Chile), Punta Arenas (Chile), Talcahuano (Chile), Valparaiso (Chile), Antofagasta (Chile), Callao (Peru), Guayaquil (Ecuador), Balboa (Panama), Curazao, Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), La Guaira (Venezuela), Santo Domingo and Cozumel (Mexico).
