Beach Area in Jardines del Rey Rehabilitated
Monday, April 16, 2018

Havana.- The rehabilitation works in beach areas Jardines del Rey (King's Gardens) were extended to the front of the five-star Iberostar Hotel.

The program consists of dumping sand to create a kind of dune of about 5,000 square meters.

For this purpose, some 2,000 cubic meters of sand will be deposited in an area called La Jaula, which is between 700 and 4,400 meters from the coast and is 20 meters deep.

This project gives continuity to the plan to dump sand in Jardines del Rey in 2016, when the Flamenco, Las Coloradas and El Paso beaches were improved.

The total investment is estimated at some eight million pesos and has already benefited about nine kilometers of beaches, where one million cubic meters of sand have been dumped.
