Mobile Telephony Consolidates Positions in Cuba |

Havana.- Cuba reached five million active cell phone lines in April, as part of the company's computerization process.
According to data from the Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba (ETECSA), the client who marked that figure contracted his service in a commercial unit in Guanabacoa, in Havana.
It is noteworthy that in late 2003, only 43,000 active cell phone lines were available, and that number increased to 223,000 lines in April 2008, and to one million two years later.
Meanwhile, in December 2016, the company activated four million cell phone lines, and reached 4.22 million at the end of last year.
In addition, experts assured that 2018 will be another year to continue with the computerization process and thereby to contribute with more services to the population.
