Costa Group to Invest Billions of Euros in Its Fleet
Monday, March 19, 2018

London.- The Costa Group, owned by the Carnival Corporation, will invest some six billion euros in the next few years to enlarge its cruise fleet.

The company submitted an order for the subsidiary Aida Cruises for a vessel powered by liquefied natural gas, which must be built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.

The ship is similar to the two boats that were already ordered, each with 180,000 gross tons and about 2,700 cabins.

The Costa Group already ordered seven ships by 2023, three of which for Aida Cruises, and four for Costa Cruises, which will be developed by the Fincantieri and Meyer Werf shipyards.

As elements to highlight, the ships will have about 40 restaurants and bars, an auditorium theater and the possibility of choosing between two dozen types of different cabins.
