Monday, March 19, 2018

Havana.- The Cuban Symphonic Orchestra completed a tour of several U.S. cities, where it was highly acclaimed by the public.

According to the program, the orchestra performed in the cities of Daytona Beach; The Villages; Opelika, Key Largo; Myers, Sarasota, all in Florida.

Experts stressed that it is the second time that the Cuban Symphonic Orchestra is well received by the public in the United States, in addition to contributing to the rescue of classical music.

The program featured Manuel de Falla's El Sombrero de Tres Picos, Brahms' Symphony II, Dvorak's Symphony IX, Beethoven's Symphony VII, Amadeo Roldan's Tres Pequeños Poemas, Guido López-Gavilán's Guaguancó, and Tchaikovsky's Overture 1812.

The National Symphonic Orchestra was founded in 1960 and has been directed by Enrique Pérez Mesa and Leo Brouwer, with a wide symphonic and chamber repertoire.
