Attractions on Villa Clara's Keys Highlighted
Monday, March 12, 2018

Havana.- The keys located off Villa Clara's north coast, in central Cuba, stand out for their unique attractions for the development of tourism.

In the group, the islets of Santa María, Ensenachos and Las Brujas stand out, as they are located in an area that was designated a Biosphere Reserve by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

It is worth mentioning that the keys are part of the Los Caimanes Marine National Park, which covers about 300 square kilometers, from Santa María to the sandy Cayo Guillermo.

In addition, the region holds the most preserved coral reefs in Cuba and is inhabited by more than 400 species of fish, algae, coelenterates, mollusks and echinoderms.

Access to the region is through a 48-kilometer-long causeway on the sea that connects the port of Caibarién with about 14 kilometers of excellent beaches.
