New Equipment to Manufacture Ice Cream in Cuba
Monday, March 12, 2018

Havana.- The Cuban dairy industry is promoting the production of ice cream, with a view to meeting the growing demand for that item in the country.

The development strategy includes the assembly of new technological equipment in the Coppelia Factory, in the eastern province of Camagüey.

The investment allows improving the refrigeration system to prevent damage due to possible leaks, together with the acquisition of Chinese-made freezers, and the installation of a new boiler and diffusers made in Cuba.

The factory produces between 5,000 and 6,000 gallons of ice cream a day for domestic consumption in gastronomic centers and the tourism sector.

The works also aim to incorporate new kinds of ice creams, snacks and ice cream cakes.
