Cuban Pentathlets Train in Mexico
Monday, March 12, 2018

Havana.- Three Cuban modern pentathletes completed a training base in Mexico, as part of their preparation for the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.

The group was made up of Leydi Laura Moya, Elianis Cámara and José Ricardo Figueroa, who trained for three weeks in that country.

Moya has won the title in singles in the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010 and two medals (gold and bronze) in the Central American Games in Veracruz in 2014.

The Cuban shortlisted delegation also includes Yaniel Velázquez, silver medalists in the Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2007 and participant in the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.

Cuban sports officials pointed out that the Dominican Republic invited Cuba to another training camp from April 15 to 30.
